The Blue Barn Crew

Hi!  And thanks for stopping by!  Whether you've hosted an event at the Farm, been out to pick berries or pick up some fresh produce or just shopping online, we thrilled to have you.  Blue Barn Berry Farm; the event room and grounds, the country market and the berries are a family business, built on love and a lot of hard work.  It's a pleasure to be able to serve you, and we hope to do so long into the future.  Here's the team:

Peggy Bucher
Co-Owner &
Founder

Peggy decided to turn a few acres of the family farm into a blueberry patch in 2009.  That tiny patch has turned into so much more - but it is truly a labor of love.  You'll find Peggy all over the farm; running the country market, tending to her plants, feeding her chickens or tending to her bees and spinning honey.  She truly does it all!

Shanda Scheeren
Co-Owner and Director of Events

Shanda moved back home to Syracuse in 2013 to begin construction on Blue Barn Berry Farm and the Event Hall.  She is a certified event and wedding planner and heads up all the events at BBBF, so if you are planning a wedding, birthday party, shower or just need a room for a meeting or gathering, she's your girl.  Shanda also spends her running day-to-day operations.

The Big Bosses

You might notice a lot of little ones running around the farm.  Don't let their age fool ya - they're running the show!  In addition to Shanda & Chris's two daughters, Kendall and Payton, there are also lots of Peggy's other grandkids around as well.  They are a blast to have around, and a ton of help (especially when there's left over ice cream...)

Director of Egg Production

I'm not sure this chicken is truly the boss, but she is the most bold, ergo, she gets top billing.  We have dozens of free-range chickens running around that delight visitors and produce some fantastic eggs.  This little lady pictured above has even been known to wander into the store once in a while to say hello...
